Ben's First Pinewood Derby

Ben enjoyed his first Pinewood Derby. Something David fondly remembers.

One of only a couple pictures taken of David in a Pinewood Derby (1981) ↓

Ben's fun time.... ↓

Ben's silver car is in the middle lane

At times, the tension was unbearable.

Ethan and I also made a couple cars. We planned to run them in the "open" races that followed the Cub Scouts. Unfortunately, we didn't know the open races had no rules. Our cars were within the Cub Scout weight 5oz limit and we both got creamed by cars and trucks weighing pounds. Next year we'll be ready.

In the end, we all had a great time and Ben came in first for his Ward Cub Scout Pack. Well done Ben!! : )

Ben's Baptism

Today Ben was baptized. We were able to have some family come out and share it with us. Ben was so excited and has been looking forward to this for a long time! We are so proud of him and his decision to be baptized. Way to go Ben!

David's Birthday Party

Dave turned 40 this year, so Beth decided to actually throw him a birthday party. She's never thrown one for him, and he doesn't remember having one since he was a child. So this was a perfect opportunity to get friends and family together for some food and fun! We got Blue Ribbon BBQ to cater (it was so good), and after dinner had a monster game of Pictionary. Imagine 20+ people playing all-play for the whole game! It was the rowdiest game we've ever been involved in! :-) We had a great time and are so thankful for family and good friends to celebrate with.

Family Skiing at Ragged Mountain in NH

Dave and Rachel really wanted to learn how to snowboard this year. So what better time than during Rachel's winter break? All those who were physically able (Dave, Rachel, Beck, Mike, and Kathy) went to Ragged Mountain in New Hampshire. Rachel had a great time learning to snowboard, and Dave and Mike learned they are probably better suited to skiing. :-)
