Becky & Mike Visit - Hiking on Mt. Monadnock

The last day of Becky and Mike's visit, Dave, Rachel, Becky and Mike hiked up Mt. Monadnock in NH. It's a pretty stony climb, but it pays off with gorgeous views.

Along the trail ...

They made it!

This was Dave imitating the statue "The Thinker" from the 2nd "Night at the Museum" movie, where he lifts his arms and says "Boom! Boom! Firepower!!" That is Ethan's favorite line from the movie, so Dave did this for him.

Rachel called up her Grandpa Workman to tell him she hiked her first mountain. (He summitted Mt. Kilimanjaro to celebrate his 60th birthday)

We've heard legends that Sasquatch lives around here too. I think we just got proof!

Becky & Mike Visit - Cape Ann - Rockport, MA

Rockport is a beautiful little town on Cape Ann in MA. We set out there to eat some sea food, walk around, and go to a beach. We accomplished all of our goals, with a minimum of meltdowns. :-)

Our lunch spot

Apparently Ethan and Beth were making funny faces :-)

Ethan really hates to feel left out of anything

The water was FREEZING cold at the beach. Becky and Beth were perfectly happy to watch the action from chairs. (after all someone had to keep an eye on Sarah!)

Rachel before she took the plunge

Mike's turn

Ben decided against it

Ethan got his feet wet and that was it!

Dave couldn't bring himself to go under :-p

Going shell collecting

This is one of my favorite shots

Ethan protected us from sea gulls

It was a great day for being with family

Becky & Mike Visit - Newport, RI - 'Cliff Walk' by the Ocean

No sooner had we said good-bye to Becky in Rochester, than she was back on our doorstep a few days later .... And she brought along her husband and dogs, too!

Actually, we had planned this visit for a while, and the Rochester trip for Becky (and us too, to a point) was more last minute. We hung out with Becky, Mike, and their dogs (which is swear is my kids favorite part of them visiting). We went to Newport, RI: Watercountry water park in NH, Rockport, MA; and the older, and not pregnant ones also went for a hike up Mt. Monadnock. It was a blast! We all enjoyed each other's company, and just doing things as a family.

Thanks for taking the time and vacation days to come see us!

Our first activity was to go on the famed "Cliff Walk" in Newport, RI. It is beautiful scenery. Both the ocean and the gorgeous old summer mansions of the rich and monopolistic (ie Vanderbilt's)

Going down the "40 steps"

Catching a little sea spray!

Rachel's shoes got a little bit wet after that shot :-)

Yay! A car with air conditioning! (away from the ocean it was a VERY warm day)
